This 10-day itinerary takes you through the rich history and stunning landscapes of Spain and Portugal. Starting in Madrid, you'll explore the Alhambra in Granada, visit the Costa del Sol, and experience Seville’s vibrant culture. Crossing into Portugal, you'll discover ancient Roman ruins in Mérida, UNESCO-listed Évora, and the medieval towns of Marvão and Tomar. The tour continues in Fátima, Porto’s historic center, and the scenic Douro Valley, before visiting the spiritual city of Braga and Portugal’s first capital, Guimarães. You’ll end in Lisbon, exploring its historic neighborhoods and seaside towns.
Welcome to your tour! We will set off from Madrid early in the morning, traveling south through La Mancha. Our first stop will be Puerto Lápice, a delightful Manchego village reminiscent of Don Quixote. Next, we will proceed into Andalusia via Despeñaperros, arriving in Granada, where lunch is included. In the afternoon, if you selected the option that includes a visit to the Alhambra, we will tour the stunning Alhambra Palace and its lovely Generalife Gardens, both constructed during the Arab period, with a local guide.
Departing from Granada, we’ll make our way to the Costa del Sol. Our first stop will be Málaga, where you'll have time to wander through its historic district, renowned for its cathedral and the Picasso Museum. After that, we’ll travel along the coastal highway, taking in the scenic views of the Mediterranean. In Marbella, we’ll visit Puerto Banús, an exquisite and upscale marina. In the afternoon, we’ll continue our journey through the mountains, sharing tales of bandits, before arriving in Ronda, a charming white village famous for its cliffside setting and the deep gorge that separates the town. Lastly, we’ll reach Seville in the evening.

We'll leave Seville, surrounded by beautiful landscapes of rolling mountains and expansive pastures, as we make our way to Extremadura. In Mérida, entry to the Archaeological Ensemble of Mérida is included, showcasing a Roman Theater and Amphitheater. This site is celebrated for its remarkable preservation and status as a World Heritage Site. You'll have time to enjoy lunch and wander through the vibrant historic center, filled with restaurants. Continuing into Portugal, we'll arrive in Évora, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its whitewashed streets, Renaissance palaces, and cathedral. You will have free time to explore.
Today, we’ll journey through the stunning landscapes of Alentejo. Our first stop will be Marvão, a charming walled town that provides breathtaking panoramic views of the area. Next, we’ll visit Castelo de Vide, known for its impressive castle. You'll also have the chance to stroll through the historic Jewish quarter, where you can explore the medieval synagogue (now a museum) or meander through the town's narrow streets. After lunch, we’ll proceed to Tomar, famous for the Convent of Christ, a former castle-convent associated with the Order of the Templars (admission included). Before reaching Fátima, we’ll visit Aljustrel, the village where the three shepherd children who witnessed the Virgin Mary’s apparitions were born, giving us the opportunity to see Lucia’s house. Upon arrival in Fátima, you’ll have free time at the Sanctuary of Fátima, where you can attend the candlelight procession if you wish (not held during winter). Dinner will be included.
We’ll head north to Portugal. Arriving in Porto around 11:00 a.m., the country’s second-largest city, we’ll kick off with a sightseeing tour (included) of the historic center located along the Douro River. We’ll also visit one of the local wineries (included). Afterward, you’ll have free time to discover the city at your own pace.
Today, we’ll immerse ourselves in the breathtaking landscapes of northern Portugal. Our day will start with a walk through Braga, recognized as the religious capital of Portugal, featuring its historic cathedral. Next, we’ll take a ride on the world’s oldest cable car to the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus, where we can enjoy stunning views. Afterward, we suggest descending via the impressive staircase. Guimarães, the first capital of Portugal, awaits us with its splendid Palace of the Dukes. After lunch amidst picturesque vineyards, we’ll journey down into the Douro Valley, passing by Sabrosa, the birthplace of Magellan. In Pinhão, we’ll visit its charming train station decorated with traditional tiles and enjoy a one-hour cruise along the Douro River, showcasing the region's beauty (from November to March, the cruise will be replaced with a scenic drive that includes stops at viewpoints along the Douro River). Finally, we’ll head to Coimbra, arriving by the end of the day. Dinner will be provided.
We’ll spend some time in Coimbra, Portugal's third-largest city, renowned for its historic university and charming, steep streets. As we head south, we’ll visit the Batalha Monastery (entrance fee included), an impressive medieval mausoleum of kings. You’ll have time for lunch and a leisurely stroll in Nazaré, a picturesque fishing town and seaside resort. We’ll take the elevator that rises to the old city (tickets included), providing stunning views of the ocean. On our way to Lisbon, we’ll stop in Óbidos, one of the most beautiful towns in Portugal, characterized by its charming white streets adorned with flowers. We expect to arrive in Lisbon around 7:30 p.m
In the morning, we’ll kick off our sightseeing tour of Lisbon, uncovering the Portuguese capital, famed for its seven hills, charming streets, iconic tiles, the spirit of 'saudade,' and the beautiful Atlantic light. We’ll also visit the Belém neighborhood, the launch point for famous Portuguese navigators who ventured across the oceans in the 15th century. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to wander and enjoy the viewpoint in Bairro Alto; you can also choose to take an optional trip to the towns of Sintra, Cascais, and Estoril. In the evening, we’ll head back to the hotel from the lively Restauradores Square, filled with bustling bars and cafés.
Following breakfast, our journey will conclude, leaving you with delightful memories to cherish.
